Home...

I can't help but wonder where I'm meant to be.

Los Angeles just doesn't feel like home.

Sure, I love this city. It's vibrant, eclectic and the weather is glorious most of the year. Nevertheless, I'm not like most of the residents in this crazy city. I smile at people who look like they are having a bad day, I'm a considerate driver, I don't care about fame (or famous people in general), I don't drink (much), and I really don't enjoy nightclubs. I'm a genuinely optimistic, free spirited, caring person and there is a very good chance living here will attempt to destroy that.

In my previous relationship, I saw myself moving to Portland, Oregon. That's where I spent my high school years and always saw us having a family and growing old there. But without him, things seem so different. I could see myself living in New Zealand. Or London. Even Spain. If only I could move far from this country, fall in love and spend my life taking photos and going on surgical missions :)

Such a dreamer I am...

Is moving out of the US a realistic dream?

I would love to hear stories from anyone who has made a drastic move or knows anyone who has just packed up and left the county.

Since I'm missing home, enjoy a few pictures from Oahu:

Moving on...You've been up to a lot since I met you!! I love your pictures from your mission trip to Kenya and your awesome vacation! Lucky you!

I didn't know you were born in Hawaii! I am going to be in Honolulu for 2 weeks this August and I'm so excited. Any tips or must see places?!

Okay, don't want to look like a stalker in my first comment on your blog so I'm going to stop typing now :)

    Have a good week!

  2. Hello sweetie. You know my thoughts on this. Find a place, pack up, and GO. This is THE TIME in your life to do it. Check out the midwest. The people are amazing. So much nicer than LA people, and so laid back.

I think the south would be a bit much, but if you want friendly, you will definitely find it there.

  3. I say go for it with the overseas move, but its easy for me to say, if i was put in the position im not sure what i would actually do.
I would also love to live in NZ after visitng there earlier this year!
Could you not just move to a place within the US that suits you and your personality more?

  4. love love love these pics. Hawaii is my favorite place on earth. I know what you mean about not feeling at home. I felt my hometown over 2 years ago, and although I do feel 'at home' where I'm at, I can't help but think that there is more to life than Texas. After a recent trip to London, I did a lot of research on what it takes to move to Europe, and unfortunately, it's not easy.. which makes me even more determined! Good luck to you!

  8. I don't think LA is where you belong--maybe traveling more frequently will help you, look for jobs where you can pack up and go. When it's right, you'll know.
